What you'll be doing
- Maintains HH-60 and UH-1 N engines. Performs troubleshooting, removal, repair, installation, inspection and operational check of installed and uninstalled engines and system components. Assists in aircraft movement using applicable towing equipment and technical orders. Performs aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, launch and recovery, corrosion control and inspection with minimum supervision. Operates ground support equipment and flight line vehicles. Works for the aircraft mechanic lead. Adjusts, aligns and calibrates aircraft components. May perform functional checks of fuel, hydraulic, engines, avionics, and electro-environmental systems. May rig, track, and balance rotor systems. Advises supervision of deficiencies affecting aircraft airworthiness. Inventories aircraft support equipment. Performs inspections. Accomplishes refurbishment and phase maintenance. Prepares and maintains aircraft maintenance records and historical documents. Maintains aircraft maintenance forms and ensures all historical documents are given to plans and scheduling. Uses applicable technical orders when performing aircraft maintenance, time compliance technical order, and to troubleshoot aircraft. Researches, orders and receives aircraft parts. Prepares parts for tum-in back into the supply system. Initiates material deficiency reports as required. Inventories aircraft support equipment. Maintains tools, hand and special, in a safe and serviceable condition. Reports unserviceable tools and equipment to appropriate responsible party. Annotates equipment/tools inspection and condition documents. Checks serviceability and operates powered and non-powered support equipment Complies with established policies, procedures and standards. Assists other mechanics/specialists as required. Complies with all safety, bioenvironmental security and housekeeping standards. Complies with training requirements. Supervises and trains newly assigned personnel as required. Perform other duties as required.
What your background should be
- Must have a minimum of three years recent hands-on aircraft maintenance and/or servicing experience and completed a military aviation technical school or possess an Airframe and Power Plant License. Two years of H-60 or UH-IN aircraft maintenance experience is desired. Knowledge of the use of hand and special tools, and testers is required. Must have in depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current civilian drivers license, and be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line drivers license. Must have an in-depth knowledge of flight line operations. US Security Clearance Required. Must obtain required Red X certification within 60 days of hire. Must obtain engine run certification within 60 days of hire.
