What you'll be doing
- Responsible for supervising an operations team or multiple teams, playing an integral role in the production, creation, and delivery of health care products or services to internal and external clients. Supervises all activities associated with a limited agenda of an operating departments day-to-day production regimen. Supervises assigned staff including responsibility for recruiting and performance management. Ensures adherence to departmental budget by managing resources and over time while staying in budget. Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to staff as appropriate. Acts as an escalation point for teams, supporting all customers to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Manages operational workflows; meet internal and external SLA (Service Level Agreements). Provides reports and updates to management as assigned or requested. Supports and administers various departmental and corporate policies consistent with the companies core values and philosophies. Ensures all processes meet HIPAA and Government security requirements with regards to sharing/storage/PHI (Personal Health Information). Develops and maintains work procedures, schedules and workflow. Recommends process improvements. Organizes and leads team meetings. Ensures business practices remain current best practices. If responsible for technology, maintains assigned system and identifies enhancement opportunities. Develops and maintains all special project policy and process documentation. Manages one or more specialized functions in support of departmental success.
What your background should be
- 2 years experience in a supervisory role and 2 years additional professional work experience or 5 years professional experience including 2 years experience in a proven leadership role (i.e. held Team Lead or similar position), in the following areas as required for the specific assignment: medical billing, medical records, pharmacy claims, health care or insurance call center, third party collections, and/or hospital settings. Ability to interpret an Explanation Of Benefits (EOB) is required. Ability to interpret an UB-40 is a plus. Ability to operate with strong personnel management skills to motivate staff and take corrective actions when necessary. Perform well in team environment, with staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.
Required Schooling / Training
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor degree preferred
