What you'll be doing
- The person responsible for performing quality dimensional and visual inspection and testing of precision machined components by using various measuring devices to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. This position includes significant duties such as: verify conformance of high complexity products using various inspection instruments (micrometers, optical comparators, thread gages, dial indicators, hardness tester, multimeter, and cylindrical plug gages). Ability to read and interpret production travelers and engineering specifications to ensure product conformance at each manufacturing product sequence. Verify production process and create product discrepant material reports in the quality database. Plan and layout inspection procedures utilizing precision measuring, instruments, fixtures and specifications and utilize computer programs to search for part processes and procedures. Maintain safety and quality standards by using acceptable housekeeping practices on equipment and work area.
What your background should be
- 1 to 3 years experience required for this position. Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficiencies. Proficient in dynamic dimensional inspection (GD&T). Must have some soft skills-results oriented; active problem solver, self-starter; works with minimal supervision, excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- 2 year Technical College Education or equivalent.
