What you'll be doing

General repairs and maintenances, proper uses and cares of hand tools, equipments and supplies and adhering to all fire safeties, medical rules and codes. Performs other duties as assigned by the departments management staff. As patient care hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department. Participates in and promotes the service philosophy of integrity, customer centered, accountability, respect and excellence. Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Maintains building condition by repairing walls, floors, ceilings, doors, stairways, windows and roofs. Maintains equipment condition by repairing or replacing belts, fans, bearings, motors, shafts, wheels and valves. Maintains grounds by repairing guard rails, walkways, walls, curbing and lights. Preventive maintenance as scheduled.

What your background should be

Minimum of 3 months on the job training or six months related job experience. Proper use of hand tools, equipment. Working knowledge of maintenance and repair. Frequent strenuous activity such as lifting, pulling and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Potential exposure to hazardous materials. May come in contact with contagious diseased equipment.

Required Schooling / Training

High School diploma or equivalent
