What you'll be doing
- The account director will lead the accounting function to help achieve the strategic goals of the company. The ideal candidate will be a visible professional expert and colleague will manage all aspects of the accounting function workflow, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting and forecasting. Direct the accounting function through the entire client cycle from executing the contract through project close. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of monthly closing and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP. Manage the invoicing and collections processes. Prepare and update the budgets and forecasts for the company. Provide timely financial information and recommendations to the CEO of the company. Provide technical guidance on accounting and sales tax issues, including international transactions and government contracting. Evaluate accounting, business processes and recommend improvements to ensure best practices and operational effectiveness. Manage a team of two staff accountants.
What your background should be
- General accounting experience of 5 years plus a minimum of 3 years in a management role. Excellent analytical skills, computer abilities and attention to detail. Significant experience in budgeting and forecasting. Breadth of GAAP knowledge and accounting for flow-thru entities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization. Positive attitude and client service oriented. Prior experience with vision and working with government contracting preferred.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree in accounting or related discipline.
