What you'll be doing

Manages team of employees responsible for delivery of the companys health and welfare plans for employees and retirees. Sets competency and performance standards for the team in conjunction with corporate HR standards. Collaborates to develop and recommend new or revised strategies, policies, procedures and designs for health and welfare plans. Ensures consistency in the application of the company benefits strategy and philosophies and ensures that the plans are administered in accordance with plan documents. Integrates issues, lessons learned and best practices from plan design, administration and vendor input to constantly improve the cost and value of the benefits delivered. Understands and addresses customer issues and concerns as they relate to any aspect of the benefit plans in order to continually improve employee commitment. Insures vendor quality and cost effectiveness by negotiating and monitoring performance metrics, service agreement tracking, and the monitoring of vendors reengineering efforts and process improvements. Works with internal communications partners to promote and help participants understand their benefits and manages development and deployment of communications. Coordinates health benefits initiatives with corporate medical to ensure alignment of objectives to improve participant health and engagement programs. Develops and maintains external relationships, represents the company in health care coalitions and associations and attends industry meetings to keep abreast of latest developments in the industry, competition and government legislation.

What your background should be

Minimum 5 years experience in benefits or related HR experience focusing on vendor management and data management. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Proven project management experience including managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to think strategically, analytically and intuitively. Understanding of financial aspects of benefit. Working knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, healthcare reform, IRS regulations and non US benefits regulations.
