What you'll be doing

Serve in an advisory role within a specialized facilities/maintenance area. The individual follows the direction of the department manager/director and cascades the business plan and departmental goals to departmental employees. Understand the collective bargaining unit agreements. Maintain time and attendance and other administrative programs for all departmental employees. Ensure product meets quality requirements. Lead the efforts to overcome obstacles which may exist for assigned departmental teams and assist in the efforts as required to overcome obstacles for other associated teams. Evaluate performance/capabilities of personnel within a departmental team and initiate necessary counseling/training/discipline to obtain the optimum effectiveness of the employees and department(s). Enhance and maintain a safe and clean environment for employees. Implement and follow through with initiatives to achieve departmental and plant goals; Provide guidance to employee work units (EWUs). Work closely with the customer to establish goals and priorities that meet his/her business needs and ultimately those of the company. Maintain work orders in SAP & compare hours to payroll daily and take corrective actions. Fill out and return emergency work orders (EWO) within the time allowed including leading cross functional teams across all payroll groups in order to achieve permanent corrective actions and improvements.

What your background should be

Minimum of three years experience as a leader of at least 10 personnel within a high stress manufacturing, power plant, or other industrial or equipment service organization that has a zero downtime philosophy and a rigorous preventive maintenance system with specific goals and expectations. A working knowledge and ability to understand the technical details associated with the repair and upkeep of complex electrical, mechanical, and chemical systems in order to successfully schedule, prepare for, manage, and complete maintenance repairs, evolutions, and other equipment operational and improvement requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical presentations.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree, preferably in an engineering or other equivalent technical field
