What you'll be doing
- Demonstrate a knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care and should be fully capable to function as a responsible independent member of the nursing team in the primary care or mental health role. Sufficiently skilled to fully prepare, administer and document actions. Participate in interdisciplinary councils, quality improvement meetings and team building activities. Duties will include but are not limited to patient intake, documentation, diabetic checks, wound care, dressing changes, assisting providers with procedures, point of care testing including FSG and EKGs, vital signs, phlebotomy, health screening including ETOH, depression and PTSD. Take histories and document previous physical and mental health conditions and concerns. Function in either the primary care or mental health role depending on patient needs. Educate the patients on various disease processes and treatment plans as well as follow-up. Perform other duties under the direction or the charge nurse and nurse manager as assigned.
What your background should be
- Six months of qualifying experience as an LPN or LVN and one year of experience that involved nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing.
