What you'll be doing
- The incumbent ensures effective implementation of strategic objectives and policies within IT project management, in accordance with the company strategic plans. Implements strategic and operational objectives with substantial impact on the short-term success of IT enterprise project management. Ensures the timely meeting of all the commitments for assigned programs, projects and releases delivery. The individual provides leadership and mentoring on project management best practices (including scope, time, cost, communications and risk management) for team members and other project managers. He/she ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates and project staff are defined and understood. Identifies cross-organizational barriers that impact multiple projects or programs and ensures these barriers are removed. Consults with senior management and business leaders to review initial investment initiatives to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing a project, estimated staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. The person is accountable for program staffing from across the business and IT organizations, and ensuring that the right talent is aligned with the complexity of the work.
What your background should be
- Applicant requires having an in depth technical knowledge of project management practices and processes; the ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team and/or matrix environment; leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism; ability to drive results by identifying and resolving problems within scope of responsibility; knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services; and knowledge of Microsoft office suite and other business related software. A minimum of ten years of related work experience, with five years management experience is asked.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree with master is preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
