What you'll be doing
- The logistics support specialist plans, coordinates and executes multifunctional logistics-related processes. Individual serves as senior advisor for logistics policy and supply, maintenance, and distribution management operations. The logistics support specialist also serves as logistics management specialist and provides logistical guidance for supply management, maintenance management, and equipment survey and utilization programs. Analyzes and evaluates logistics regulations, policies and procedures to select, develop, and apply methods and techniques to solve logistical and supply problems within the organization. The logistics support specialist makes recommendations concerning operations and contingency plans, as well as, reviews and makes recommendations concerning logistics. Maintains property accounting records in accordance with applicable regulations and directives. Initiates guidance on all reports of financial loss for lost, damaged, and destroyed government property, and coordinates turn-ins. The logistics support specialist is responsible for maintaining non-expendable and supporting document files. Coordinates equipment requirements with other related functional areas such as resource management. Makes recommendations based on an in-depth, working knowledge of logistics. Analyzes and consolidates reports for submission to higher headquarters. Performs record maintenance to include forward supply point, support equipment management, and off-site test locations. Makes recommendations concerning operations and contingency plans, as well as, reviews and makes recommendations concerning logistics portions of inter/intra service support agreements (ISSA). Coordinates with other elements of the organization to ensure compliance and synchronization.
What your background should be
- Must have successfully completed a department of defense (DOD) logistics certification course and supported this skill set as their primary duty with a minimum of five (5) years support in a SOF unit as logistician performing related activities. Ability to establish, maintain and enforce operational standards. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain detailed records. Demonstrated effective communications skills including strong written and oral presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility. Proficient in the use of personal computers with experience using microsoft office suite and web-based applications. Must be creative and have the ability to look at problems from multiple vantage points. Ability to multi-task, prioritizes workload, and successfully handles competing deadlines.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required.
