What you'll be doing

The Customer Account Representative will perform insurance verification, billing, financial counseling, refunds, remittance processing, self-pay collections and third-party follow-up in order to give a solid guarantee for maximum reimbursement. The incumbent will be responsible for providing financial education to the healthcare centre residents regarding the benefits to assist on their personal financial liability understanding. The individual will also support the work of the whole department through accomplishing reports and conducting clerical functions if required.

What your background should be

Basic requirements regarding the position: - High School Diploma or GED. - 1 year of previous experience in Accounting area. - Writing, reading and Math skills. - Ability to comprehend written instructions and work in accordance with them. - Solid knowledge of medical terminology, patient billing practices, registration, state, federal and third party regulations. - Proven experience with accounts receivable management practices, credit and collection practices and computerized billing systems. - Ability to effectively work with the public.
