What you'll be doing

The interventional radiology technician is responsible for driving the organizational culture through values and customer service standards. The individual is accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers. He/she develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication. Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner. He/she performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with organizational policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Reviews patient specific procedure orders to determine materials/supplies that will be needed. The responsible individual conducts all necessary preparations of the patient procedure room and documents when appropriate. Explains procedure to the patient, answers questions and addresses patient concerns. Prepares, organizes, and efficiently utilizes supplies and equipment to prevent wastage. The incumbent performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Applicant must have ART certification, and be a licensed radiology technician by the department of health. Interventional radiology certificate preferred. Minimum one year experience in interventional radiology required. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and ultrasound equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure; knowledge of sterile techniques; experience with special procedures utilizing a C-Arm. BLS certification required. Applicant should be proficient in the use of computers and related software such as microsoft office.
