What you'll be doing
- Maximize sales potential and customer retention through outstanding customer service, including: greeting customers as they enter the store, circulating throughout the parking lot/garage and engaging customers, answering customer questions, escorting customers and their purchases to their car, and individually thanking them for their business. Be proactively accessible and responsive to all customers regarding their needs and questions. This includes effective participation in the store carry out/curbside policy. Ensure customers are being taken care of and the parking lot/garage looks great at all times. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent service that exceeds expectations. Stay up to date on current company products, sales, and events. General knowledge of product pricing at the front of the store (garden center, etc.). Ability to assist customers with special needs, including utilizing motorized cart delivery to customer vehicles and/or returning cart to store. Ensure proper traffic flow through the store parking lot/garage. Enforce time limits for cars in the store parking lot/garage. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of parking lot/garage. Report parking violations (including team member parking) to the appropriate member of store leadership. Retrieve, organize, and clean carts/baskets as needed or directed by leadership. Report any unsafe conditions in the parking lot/garage to store leadership immediately. Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner. Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights/measures and health/sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices. Support global, regional, and store programs.
What your background should be
- Customer service experience preferred the love of helping others is a necessity. Ability to embrace change and work well within a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively and understand and exceed the needs of customers and fellow team members. Ability to make sound decisions using good judgment. Ability to learn and share basic knowledge of company standards and products. Supports and models a philosophy of shared fate. Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to learn and safely use/operate all necessary tools and equipment. Ability to learn and practice safe lifting techniques.
