What you'll be doing
- Supervises accounting staff, manages relationship with outsourced areas to include accounts payable payroll, and information systems. Leads and coordinates accounting close to ensure deadlines are met according to reporting requirements for various committees and board meetings. Develops and maintains general ledger reports and builds custom reports as needed. Reviews and approves account reconciliations performed by accountants. Reviews and approves general ledger journal entries. Supervises cash management functions to include incoming and outgoing wires, investments, payroll related transactions, tax requirements, and state program requirements. Provides financial feedback and guidance to clinical staff in regards to budget and expenditure variance explanations. Leads staff in the production of financial reporting packages for executive team, committees, and board. Works in partnership with external auditors to ensure reporting guidelines are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals and internal accounting controls are monitored and maintained. Reviews accounts receivable contractual allowances for accuracy and appropriate recording of revenue. Develops and revises accounting policies that support the organizations internal controls and finance division goals. Ensures staff is knowledgeable and cross trained to develop efficiencies across tasks. Works on special projects and analysis as needed and is able to manage deadlines that may change or require quick turnaround.
What your background should be
- Five years of experience in accounting required with supervisory experience preferred. Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred. PC experience with Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and other office applications. Knowledgeable of accounting systems, general ledger, financial analysis. Supervisory experience. Ability to collaborate with employees, management, and outsourced areas. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or related field required, CPA or masters degree a plus
