What you'll be doing
- The hiring company is currently looking for a monitor technician (PRN). This position is responsible to print and interpret rhythm strips every eight hours and place in patients chart each shift; alert nursing personnel of rhythm changes or new occurrences and obtain a graphic tracing for each. The successful candidate is accountable for alarm limit settings on the monitors, and s/he will perform clerical duties related to admission and discharge of patients. The incumbent will follow policies for placing telemetry leads on patients; troubleshoot any telemetry problems. S/he will compile new and current charts; enter patient information on chart and Kardex. The applicant will answer telephone and intercom, take messages, and communicate information to appropriate person; call and follow-up with consultants. This role will also assist visitors on the nursing units.
What your background should be
- Qualified candidate should have current CPR certificate and completion of telemetry training.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma or GED
