What you'll be doing

The hiring organization is currently looking for a resident pharmacist. Under supervision of residency director and residency faculty, the responsible person is accountable to check medication orders according to applicable professional standards. The ideal person will furnish information concerning medications and therapeutics to physicians and nurses. S/he will maintain stock inventory and supplies and may provide instruction and direction to technicians. The successful candidate will assist in maintenance of charges and records pertaining to medications. The resident pharmacist will serve the role of clinical advocate for the patient in the area of pharmacotherapeutics. The incumbent will provide for the safe and effective use of medications in the hospital. The select person will perform other duties not listed here may be assigned by leadership.

What your background should be

The ideal person must have experience in hospital unit dose dispensing system, additive program and computer necessary to continued success required. The candidate must be familiar with professional and commercial phases of pharmacy and be able to fill prescriptions. The individual must be able to comprehend, write and verbalize in English; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with realization that errors may have serious consequences for the patient.
