What you'll be doing
- The registered nurse is accountable for providing safe and high quality nursing care to critically ill patients with complex needs. The registered nurse duties include continuous assessment and monitoring of changing conditions, administration and titration of various medications, mechanical ventilation and other invasive monitoring modalities. The ideal candidate will routinely exercise complex critical thinking to anticipate and respond to changes in patient condition; draw on critical care nursing knowledge base to provide interventions consistent with health team plan and projected optimal outcomes. The responsible person has to maintain current knowledge and skills as required to employ evidence based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. The incumbent has ability achieve and maintain proficiency in advanced cardiac life support techniques for optimal response to emergent conditions. S/he will provide therapeutic communication with patient and family members and act as resource for education and information to entire health team and participate as unit member to enhance work environment and foster healthy professional relationships. The successful individual must be knowledgeable and comfortable titrating cardiac medications. The incumbent will interact with the family and significant others to facilitate patient care.
What your background should be
- The candidate should have three years of full time ICU experience. The ideal person must have a current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice nursing in United States or commonwealth of the US. Current ACLS certification and US citizenship is required. The incumbent must pass physical examination and tuberculosis (TB) skin test before entering on duty; must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by title 38, US code. Demonstrate an excellent interpersonal and collaborative skill is required. The candidate must possess excellent leadership and problem solving, knowledge and experience dealing with disciplinary or union issues, strong negotiation skills, communication skills, organizational, and written skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- BS or MS degree in nursing or related field.
