What you'll be doing
- Appropriate allocation of staff, equipment, and other resources in a cost-effective fashion, and for developing and maintaining standards of care consistent with hospital policies and procedures and the mission and philosophy of the organization. To ensure that these standards are met, the incumbent is responsible in observing and evaluating direct and indirect care; providing opportunities for professional development of the staff; and communicating the goals and objectives of these services as well as the nursing administration to the staff. To effectively discharge the responsibilities of this position, the incumbent must have a broad base of general nursing knowledge with a specific background in perioperative nursing practice.

- Effective communication skills at the professional, human resource, technical and management levels are also essential to this position. Demonstrates effective clinical/supervisory problem solving and decision making via problem identification and resolution skills. Involves all appropriate stakeholders and generates positive resolutions across the organization. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, physicians, other units, patients, families, and visitors. Facilitates communication between physicians and nursing staff and acts as a patient advocate to ensure timely and efficient patient care. Keyboard proficiency and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Current CA RN license.
Required Schooling / Training
- 3 years BA or BS degree nursing or related health or healthcare management field.
