Temp to Perm Load Planning Specialist

What you'll be doing: Monitor and identify any pickup or delivery exceptions by working the greater than 2 day late report daily and then communicate any significant vendor delays to the fulfillment team of the company. Manually route LTL destination delivery shipments to ensure on-time deliveries. Monitor and respond to carrier EDI load tenders by working carrier declines and time-outs throughout the day. Manage pop up fleets by identifying and connecting loads to optimize utilization of drivers. Review tendered loads that exceed target cost levels on a regular basis and, for any exceptions, work to route via lower-cost carrier alternatives. Review auto tender report for exceptions on trailer utilization and system-generated consolidation loads.

What your background should be: 3-5 years of experience in transportation or related logistics field, or four year degree with a minimum of a minor in supply chain/logistics or a related field of study. Experience working with transportation optimization software such as JDA or i2. Computer familiarity with a wide range of programs, including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Solid analytical skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving. Able to work in a collaborative team environment. Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Sense of urgency and strong follow up skills. Excellent time management and organization skills.
