What you'll be doing
- Assist in the delivery of patient care as a team member by performing patient care task under the direction of a registered nurse. Perform properly and legibly document and report all procedure in accordance with department policy. Participate in obtaining a nursing history. Report abnormalities to registered nurse. Assist in identifying need and developing or modifying plan of care. Perform treatment according to policy and procedure. Provide patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity and culture. Function appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participate in practice change as a result of performance improvement activity. Demonstrate accurate documentation and monitoring of activity as needed. Support quality standard and initiative set by the department.
What your background should be
- Certified or registered medical assistant with comparable hospital experience required. Nursing assistant training is required or successful completion of either practical nurse fundamental or comparable experience upon review. Exhibit desire to learn and upgrade skill. Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit.
