What you'll be doing
- Performs and interprets analyses offered by the section accurately and efficiently according to established procedures. Maintains accurate and orderly records of tests performed. Uses independent judgment and discretion to recognize problems, identifies causes and takes corrective action and reports all issues to technical specialists (TS). Generally works well with others making contributions to the work effort as a whole; facilitates problem resolution; communications to promote both efforts is clear and professional. Performs, evaluates, interprets and documents quality control of equipment and procedures within established guidelines. Reports all QC issues to technical specialists. Performs and documents routine equipment preventive maintenance and minor repairs. Assists in evaluation of new procedures and equipment. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Performs other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Experience in a hospital laboratory setting is preferred. Must have knowledge of the functional discipline of the work area; knowledge of work area processes and procedures. Must have skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; skill in verbal and written communication; skill in planning and organizing the work area. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Must meet the requirements on competency checklist for assigned work area. Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
Required Schooling / Training
- Associate degree in a related field.
