What you'll be doing

Supports and assists with the development and actualization goals of the units (strategic plan). Coordinates and directs patient care operations for an assigned shift of the units. Manages personnel effectively, and analyzes workload and skill requirements to meet the needs of the patients for an assigned shift. Practices and promotes cost containment for units and patients. Practices and promotes patient/family advocacy and assists with the maintenance of ethical practice. Practices and promotes positive peer and guest relations. Participates in and promotes quality improvement at the unit level. Demonstrates a high level of productivity and dependability. Assists with staff education and unit projects as appropriate. Adheres to and complies with HCA code of conduct as part of the ethics and compliance program. Attends annual training sessions. Ensures that the department personnel follows hospital and corporate policies and procedures, safety and infection control practices.

What your background should be

Licensed as an RN in the state of Texas. Medication test score of 80% or better. Participation in charge nurse workshop. Participation in EKG rhythm recognition workshop or exemption by passing posttest with a grade of >80%.

Required Schooling / Training

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
