Specimen Production Technician

What you'll be doing

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a production environment. Major responsibilities are presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimen to the laboratory, imaging, microfilming, centrifugation and aliquot. Communicate effectively with all level of staff. Complete all required written documentation, legibly and within the assigned timeframe. Report to work on time and follow attendance guideline. Maintain composure while working under pressure. Reflect good judgment at all time when determining what action to take when resolving problem. Adhere to quest diagnostic core value, safety and compliance policy, and procedure.

What your background should be

Ability to understand the complex relationship between test ordered and specimen received. Strong data-entry experience is required. Medical background preferred, which include medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory. Have good organization skills and is able to learn and understand specimen type related to tests ordered by the clients.

Required Schooling / Training

High school degree or equivalent.
