What you'll be doing

Conduct intakes and assessments of consumers with mental health needs and document the results on the appropriate clinical forms. Establish and maintain ethical and professional boundaries with consumers. Maintain a nonjudgmental attitude and dignified approach to therapeutic services. Develop individualized, consumer-driven treatment plans with each consumer. Maintain clinical records in the electronic medical record such as progress notes, treatment plan reviews, discharge plans, etc. Conduct individual, family and/or group therapy sessions as indicated by the psychiatrist, treatment team members and per the agreement of the consumer. In working with children and adolescents the therapist will utilize a strength-based, child centered and family focused approach. Work in collaboration with other community programs or facilities that are involved with the consumer. Assist with authorizations from insurance companies by providing necessary clinical information. Work with the consumers and/or family members in developing an appropriate plan for transition and discharge. Conduct periodic reviews of medical records to assure that documentation is complete and up to date and in compliance with program standards. Therapist will meet with senior therapist/clinical coordinator/clinical director and staff psychiatrist monthly to receive supervision.

What your background should be

The applicant should have experience in related field. Employee must be able to read, write and speak fluent in English. Employee must be able to gain access to all AGENCY facilities with reasonable accommodation if required. Employee must be able to gain access to client's place of treatment whether it is the client's home, school or community. Employee must be able to interact with clients as specifically noted in their individual treatment plans.

Required Schooling / Training

Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a similar human services field.
