What you'll be doing

Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining UNIX workstations and servers in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines. Performs software installations and upgrades to UNIX operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensures workstations/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.

What your background should be

5-10 years of experience contract requirement in system administration on a medium to large-scale network, experience providing high availability solutions with products, experience in developing policies and procedures for managing system. Ability to develop schedules to support building and deploying systems, skilled in managing is personnel working on a medium to large-scale network, project management, a good understanding of network principals, system troubleshooting, and the system life cycle. Knowledge of Solaris 10 and Solaris 10 x86, Veritas Volume Manager, Solaris Volume Manager, NFS, DTRACE, Zones/Containers, LDOM s, Send mail, Networking Protocols TCP/IP, SNMP, etc , Shell scripting, System security, Jumpstart, Flash Archive and Flash Restore, Backup and restore concepts, SAN Concepts and SSH.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor of science in computer-related field or equivalent.
