What you'll be doing

Observe screen of cardiac monitor and listen for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Review patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variance. Inform registered nurse of variance to initiate examination of patient. Measure length and height of patients heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout and post information on patient record. Receive, greet, and direct patient, visitor and hospital personnel. Provide accurate response in a friendly, timely, and courteous manner. Follow all applicable hospital policy and procedure. Post to patient record and lab result printed off the computer. Demonstrate knowledge of information management as appropriate.

What your background should be

One year of experience in a setting serving the same age type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, required. Possess a current basic life support certification or obtain certification within one month of employment, required.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or equivalent.
