What you'll be doing

Prepare resident tray according to instruction order; employ proper food handling technique in preparation of food and setting up serving tray; deliver food, nourishment and supply to nursing unit or other area as assigned. Put stock in food storage area and refrigerator as assigned. Clean, wash and sanitize dish, silverware and utensil used to serve resident and other. Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dishwashing area; clean work area and equipment as assigned. Use proper infection control technique and protective equipment as needed; perform all other duties using proper safety technique. Attend and participate in service education opportunity. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Must have knowledge of safe food preparation and handling technique and work cooperatively as a member of a team. Should be patient, polite, and able to communicate effectively with resident, their family member, other staff, referral source, and physician. Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language. Should understand the principle of growth and development for the entire life span and be able to provide appropriate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric resident.

Required Schooling / Training

Tenth grade level or above is desirable.
