What you'll be doing

Provide quality customer service to client companies customer in the market department. Proper performance of the duty and responsibility of this position contribute to and ensure achievement of proper market condition. Responsible for read, understand and follow all guideline in the market standard practice manual, maximize sales by provide extraordinary customer service and minimize shrink through proper utilization of standard practice. Responsible for provide direction and instruction to meat cutter trainee and market associate in the absence of the market sales manager. Receive and handle product. Ensure quality control and condition of department. Maintain variety according to client company standard. Provide friendly, courteous and prompt customer service. Engage and interact with customer to create a positive shopping experience. Process fresh meat, smoked meat, seafood, random weight, lunchmeat, frozen food and salted meat to the production standard set by food lion. Maintain sanitation of the entire department. Maintain rotation, pricing and price change. Wrap and weigh meat when necessary to achieve proper condition in department. Find more efficient way to do the job and seek to reduce cost and improve labor productivity. Provide proper handle of reduction. Understand and follow food safety guideline and procedure. Adhere to all company guideline, policy and standard practice.

What your background should be

Ability to safely operate all market department equipment including slicer, grinder, scale, saw, knife, wrapper and cuber. Ability to maintain a knife grip in order to cut primal and sub primal to specification. Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds. Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds with a pallet jack. Ability to withstand, for long periods, a working environment of 45°F or less. Ability to meet production standards established by client company. Ability to complete computer based training (CBT) and training aid courses.
