What you'll be doing

Responsible for providing information to the public regarding a multitude of projects, programs, and plans. The position will develop and support development of content for all departmental communications by exercising skills in writing, copy writing, editing, photography, event planning, and graphic design to promote opportunities for public participation in all department functions and to enable greater community engagement in company environmental education and volunteer programs. The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of communications including the writing of news releases, newsletters, website content, blog content, social media content, talking points, email communications, and marketing. Graphic design and the development of various printed and electronic materials, including but not limited to flyers, ads, brochures, calendars, maps, information sheets, and programs, and the development of signs and environmental graphics for way finding. The candidate will support and support development of the company outreach services to diverse and undeserved audiences and will participate in companies committees and forums.

What your background should be

2 years of progressively responsible experience in media-related activities. The ideal candidate must possess a demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of graphic design, strategic branding, marketing, email communications, content development, writing, editing, social media communications and building audiences, and website content development. The ideal candidate has an ability to conceptualize and produce a wide variety of print and electronic communication materials from start to finish through a variety of mediums including In-design, Photo-shop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, other content management systems, and email marketing platforms.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, public relations or a closely related field.
