What you'll be doing

The level technician/shop manager will perform and supervise aspects of the maintenance operation during shift to include preventative maintenance and repair of a fleet of buses. The candidate will be responsible for all maintenance and utility staff during assigned shift. The successful applicant will do all mechanical and electrical repairs on vehicles such as engine and transmission rebuilds and replacements, alignments, air conditioning repairs, drivability diagnosis, and electrical and wiring problems, while assuring that all contractual requirements achieved. Duties include supervision of the maintenance program and reports as well as tracking work orders and filling appropriately. The ideal individual will perform do other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

At least 1 to 2 years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics. Experience with gas engines preferred. Experience with transit bus and Para transit bus maintenance preferred. Must have a current CDL license class B and with a passenger endorsement and air brakes. ASE certified preferred. Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
