What you'll be doing
- Direct and implement a comprehensive, year-long annual giving strategy to meet yearly goals and increase participation and giving, to include mailings, phonations, personal visits, and volunteer engagement. Ensure the effective integration of annual giving into the overall advancement program at the school including special parent and alumni fundraising programs. Recruit, train, and manage the volunteer annual giving committee. Develop plans based on rigorous data analysis, working in collaboration with the database and gifts coordinator to prepare reports and analyses that monitor annual giving revenue, expenses, and activity. Prepare or advise the preparation of communications related to annual giving for the annual report and other appropriate school publications, and ensure that development-related text, profiles, and pictures remain current on the schools website and social media. Maintain a portfolio of assigned annual giving and leadership gift prospects and donors, researching potential donors, updating donor profiles, organizing personal visits and solicitations, and ensuring donor stewardship and meetings occur. Collaborate with the director of alumni relations to affect increases in alumni giving, establishing and coordinating the alumni class agent fundraising program, as well as young alumni giving, reunion giving, and class challenges. Collaborate with the associate director for development and donor relations to arrange and implement donor stewardship activities for annual giving donors. Stay abreast of regulations relating to fundraising and participate in on-going professional development activities.
What your background should be
- 5+ years of experience in development or related fields. Familiarity with annual funds, volunteer management, and direct marketing. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Creative thinking and demonstrated ability to affect growth in desired results. Strong interest in K-12 education generally. High level of attention to detail, with an ability to analyze data and produce giving reports. Consummate team player who is comfortable working with wide range of people. Experience working within comprehensive fundraising campaigns is a plus.
