What you'll be doing

Product datasheets and MSDS are included. Customary and customer-specific labeling, including product numbers, bar coding, expiration dates, etc., included on boxes/inner containers. Customary and customer-specific packaging instructions, including insulated containers, special skids, chart recorders, crating, etc., are included. Bills of lading and packing slips are included, and accurate. Specified shipping method/carrier is accurate, and appropriate to the required weight, and promised delivery date. Product and lot # of shipment match the shipper paperwork. General physical integrity of containers, labels, etc. Markings and labeling compliance with applicable shipping regulations. Proper recordkeeping occurs. Incumbent must communicate across departments to ensure proper shipping instructions are being used; must complete paper work, including ups, FedEx, emery, airborne, haz materials, non-haz materials, move sheets, shipping declarations, bills of lading, tote tanks, and pick lists.

What your background should be

Minimum three years of relevant work experience performing shipping or receiving job functions and inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Evaluative experience in problem solving and ability to communicate effectively. Prior experience inspecting finished goods. Familiarity or ability to learn and understand software programs used. Knowledgeable on HMIS and spill prevention programs. Planning and organizational skills necessary to facilitate activities within the scope of the job. Ability to make sound decisions and exhibit strong interpersonal skills to work as an integral part of a team. Ability to read, learn and understand industry regulations. Basic math skills. Demonstrated experience working in an environment requiring precision and adherence to specific work or industry standards. Auditing experience would be a plus.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
