Insurance Verification Specialist

What you'll be doing: Verify, interpret, and accurately document patient health insurance or payment source. Estimate self-pay portions after benefits have been determined (deductibles, co-pays, non-covered services). Document all patient conversations/follow up efforts. Maintain contact and correspondence with patients and families to keep them informed of pending insurance clearances and/or coverage and/or issues. Maintain regular and timely contact with providers/supervisors/etc. As indicated. Forward information office managers/providers/family members as necessary to assure understanding of benefits for hearing aid purchases. Responsible for timely filing of all hearing aid claims to appropriate payers, and communicate progress with all parties involved; i.e. Providers, family members. Follow up on claim submissions to assure timely payment, and submit necessary documentation to AP for refunds to insurance companies and/or individuals. Execute adjustments to patient account in practice management system.

What your background should be: Must have strong organizational skills. Must have extensive insurance verification knowledge. Must have familiarity with payer contract language, i.e. allowable, contracted rates, etc. Must be computer literate and familiar with online portal use for insurance-based programs. Must have good oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively both on the phone and in person with patients and family members.
