What you'll be doing

The individual holding the position will form part of a multidisciplinary team advising the director for cyber security implementation and acquisition integration in the office of the department of defense (DoD) chief information officer (CIO) and other senior DoD leadership on the national security risks posed by transactions before team telecom (TT). The position holder will be responsible for day-to-day management of DoD TT portfolio and will be involved in all facets of the TT case review process including intra and interagency coordination; threat, vulnerability, consequence, and risk analysis; risk mitigation strategy development and implementation; and compliance monitoring and enforcement. The successful candidate may also become involved in supporting active case review and compliance monitoring activities associated with the committee on foreign investment in the United States (CFIUS), particularly concerning transactions involving telecoms equipment manufacturers or service providers.

What your background should be

Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience strongly preferred. Broad working knowledge of current and legacy IT/telecom equipment and systems, particularly the security vulnerabilities inherent in such equipment and systems. Broad working knowledge of the IT and telecoms industries (i.e., both equipment and service providers), particularly supply chain issues. Broad working knowledge of DoD IT/telecoms policies, programs, and infrastructure. Familiarity with the defense information systems agency (DISA) and its networks. Familiarity with the roles and missions of the national security agency (NSA). Broad working knowledge of FCC regulatory processes. Experience writing for and briefing senior executives/leadership. Intra-and interagency coordination experience.

Required Schooling / Training

Master degree with demonstrable coursework in both technology and national security preferred.
