What your background should be

One year of relevant work experience. Must meet the national registry for certified microbiologists' (NRCM) education and experience requirements to qualify for the specialist microbiologist in biosafety (NRCM) exam, and attain this certification within 3 years of hire. Supervisory experience in a professional setting. Working knowledge of biosafety principles and procedures described in the NIH and CDC guidelines and the function of IBC and IACUC committees. Knowledge of laboratory equipment, such as biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, and autoclaves, and specialized knowledge of laboratory procedures used in research using recombinant DNA, infectious agents, and biological toxins.

Required Schooling / Training

Master degree in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biological sciences or other related field.
