What you'll be doing
- Consult with faculty and education-related staff on the design, implementation and evaluation of educational programs, curriculum and modules. Provide and support faculty development specific to drawing on resources and principles from education, psychology, cognition and organizational/training development. Collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents and students on grants, publications, conference presentations and other forms of scholarship submissions to frame work based on principles and best practices in education and quality. Assess current educational practices in the department, design and implement competency based curricula and evaluate educational outcomes to improve fellow and resident education and overall program involvement. Work with faculty, fellows, and residents to improve teaching evaluation scores using innovative educational strategies. Develop and learn programs in quality and patient safety including managing and directing patient safety and quality improvement efforts of medical students, residents and fellows. Provide reports to Department Chair as requested.
What your background should be
- 5 years of experience with demonstrated skills in design, implementation and evaluation of learning. Experience with learning theories preferred. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design and performance-based assessment/educational program evaluation. Ability to interpret requirements and standard policies for educational programs.
Required Schooling / Training
- Masters degree
