What you'll be doing
- Transport patients (pre-operative, post-operative, etc.) by wheel chair or gurney within the medical center. Pick up routine requests for laboratory specimens, blood, equipment, supplies, and other appropriate materials (medical or other) including data reports on regular routes or as required and deliver to appropriate location in hospital facility. With an escort by a security officer, transport expired patients to the morgue. Pick up soiled patient equipment and supply from nursing units and transport to central processing. Transport equipment to central processing as requested. Perform CPR and respond to code blue pages as necessary.
What your background should be
- Valid BLS certification. Six months of previous experience in general patient care/hospital transportation. Nursing aide certification, preferred. Valid class C California driving license, preferred. Current California driving record information sheet, preferred. Must have a driving record free of accidents involving the applicant's negligence, preferred. Demonstrated ability to follow written & oral directions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
