What you'll be doing

Interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients and assisting physicians with patient exams or treatment. Charting and clerical work as necessary to prepare for patient appointments. Perform triage with patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations. Address/resolve all voicemail calls before leaving clinic at the end of each day. Manage patient flow to ensure proper scheduling and treatment. Clean and maintain rooms after patient exams including wiping exam tables, scrubbing chairs and wiping counters and refilling supplies. Scan and import all patient documents including medical records, notes, referrals, labs, etc. Fax or communicate with referring physicians and labs to ensure timely scheduling. Facilitate staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools. Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and physicians.

What your background should be

Minimum two years of medical assistant experience is required. CMA certification required. Must be a quick learner and able to work well with others. Familiar with various medical software, including E medical records and MS programs. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including composure, diplomacy and the ability to interact with a diverse patient population.

Required Schooling / Training

BA degree in nursing.
