What you'll be doing
- Deliver instruments to cubicles. Acquire additional instruments, equipment and materials for students. Provide assistance to undergraduate dental students with certain chair side activities (charting, rubber dam placement, mixing material, amalgam placement). Disinfecting cubicles in undergraduate clinics. Setting up cubicle barriers (am. only). Assist with infection control monitoring of faculty, students and staff along with quality assurance processes in clinic. Assist with clinic cubicle stocking each wednesday pm. Assist with weekly cleaning/flushing of dental chair suction lines. Assist with maintaining laboratory areas in between blue and green clinics.
What your background should be
- Knowledge of principles of dental assisting. A certificate of completion from an accredited dental assisting program. BLS certification. Excellent customer skills including the ability to anticipate needs of student dentists in clinic for instruments, equipment and commodities for dental procedures performed in clinic.
