What you'll be doing
- Ensure the food service production occurs according to established schedules and guidelines. Assist with ordering and maintaining par level food inventory according to established budgetary guidelines. Assist in developing, reviewing, and revising 3 weeks cycle plan menus as needed. Assist in supervising meal service and in monitoring resident requests and complaints. Ensure that foods taste and smell are palatable. Assist with monitoring all equipment care and sanitation; ensure that equipment is safe and in correct working order at all times. Assure that all established food service safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc, are followed. Attend all in-service training with a focus on OSHA, resident rights, disaster prevention, etc. Perform other duties as assigned by management if required.
What your background should be
- Must have prior experience in food service as a cook. Must have knowledge of food service regulations and practices and procedures. Successful completion of an approved food service course. Supervisory skills and problem solving capabilities preferred. Must have good communication skills; interpersonal skills. Ability to verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking ability.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school or equivalent
