What you'll be doing
- Provides management oversight of disability management and human resources compliance systems and processes to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Responsible to lead efforts to assist and consult with managers to ensure facility readiness and compliance with human resources standards for hospital survey accreditation or other external agency reviews, integrated disability management, employee leaves planning, industrial and non-industrial injury cases, employee absence management and human resources hotline calls. Builds effective plans to mitigate risk by analyzing HR compliance and disability data trends. Leverages data and provides reports to promote value of programs and engages sr. leadership to design, implement, and communicate strategic action plans. Accountable to local facility committees to present issues, formulate actions plan and to escalate issues and non-compliance to appropriate leaders. Collaborates with HR leaders to develop strategies to minimize risk to the organization. Partners with other HR groups for consistent implementation on HR-related compliance and disability management policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with governmental and regulatory agency requirements. Supports regional disability management to ensure local facility practices are in legal and regional compliance. Serves as the HR spokesperson for regulatory site visits. Manages any corrective action plans to resolve findings from surveys and audits to ensure compliance standards are met. Leads efforts and oversees staff to track licensing, certification and registration (LCR) requirements for surveyable positions, including annual health and other requirements related to conditions of employment. Develops and directs the strategic implementation plans to assist managers and employees with issues such as sick leave, accident leave, short and long term disability, FMLA leaves, general leaves planning, work modification and transitional return to work plans for workers compensation and non-workers compensation illness and injuries and other integrated disability management (IDM) strategies.
What your background should be
- Minimum four (4) years of work experience in a directly related field. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent ability to present and influence senior leadership through consulting and collaboration. Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as training and facilitation skills. Strong experience working with hiring/selection practices. Ability to work in a labor management partnership.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree in business administration, public health, psychology, human resources/high school diploma required.
