What you'll be doing
- Under the general direction of the unit supervisor and the direct supervision of a registered nurse and a licensed vocational nurse for the medical/surgical/telemetry unit, the position provide a variety of patient care activity and accommodative service to the adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and older adult patient admitted for medical/surgical/ problem. Position supports the medical care of patient under the direction of the medical staff and a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse pursuant to the mission and objective of the hospital. Candidate will appropriately communicate with physician, co-worker, volunteer, other hospital department, and patient family member according to the standard of behavior. Candidate must be able to assess his/her learning need to enhance personal and professional development. Candidate will increase knowledge and skill related to patient care by attending workshop, formal class, seminar and in service. Actual duty and responsibility may vary depending on assigned area and shift.
What your background should be
- Required completion of nurse aid program. Certification with the state of Texas preferred. American heart association health care provider required. BCLS course completion current certificate.
