What you'll be doing
- Ensure timely claim filings on HUD and investor claims. Manage the aging of portfolios (of claims to be filed and claims already filed) to determine claim status and initiate QC procedures when claim filings are completed. Document and maintain all systems necessary for proper claim handling and follow up. Manage all traffic of the claims inbox on a daily basis. Ensure all communications are handled effectively and timely. Research issues and obtain proper supporting documentation from multiple data sources (i.e., systems and media) in a timely manner as needed to complete the claim filing processes. Validate all funds received and HUD or investor remittances are attained for proper hand off to the loss analysis and liquidity management groups. Preparation of internal management reports to manage weekly inventory (in and out), aging (i.e. inventory turnover) and production. Communicate results in units and dollars on a regular basis. Work with liquidity management groups to ensure investor receipt of finalized claim packages are electronically submitted in a timely manner.
What your background should be
- At least a five to ten years minimum of default mortgage servicing background, with working knowledge of foreclosures and loss mitigation is necessary. Working knowledge with FHA endorsed mortgages is a plus. Working knowledge of reverse is a plus. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word. Excel and Word computer skills should be at or above, an intermediate level, as the job will entail several reporting and presentational roles. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint computer skills should be functional, as the job will entail interacting with SharePoint for both tracking and reporting purposes. Previous work with single family residential (SFR) mortgage default processes is essential. Familiarity with and knowledge of residential mortgage loan documents and document functions is essential. Professional auditing, analytical or reporting roles (e.g. auditor, accountant, collateral examiner, business or finance analyst, etc.) is a plus.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduation from a 4 years college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred.
