ETL Engineer

What you'll be doing: Candidate must identify and design reporting and analytic information solution by translating complex business, data, and non-functional requirement into information solution options and detailed technical ETL (extract, transform, load) and data designs. Creates, executes, and/or leads testing initiatives, while documenting and troubleshooting complex reporting & analytic information solution. Manage complex source code control, configuration repositories and deployment packaging, and job scheduling. Support the ongoing management and maintenance of information solution, facilitating understanding of their usage with other technology team. Provide leadership in advancing skill sets and improving team practice. Stay current with and applies industry best practice related to information management and information delivery capabilities. Thorough understanding of information delivery life cycle, processes, and system design.

What your background should be: Experience with self-service business intelligence tools such as Micro strategy, Tableau, and Business objects are a plus. Prior experience with structured delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile Scrum). with code migration tools and process. with scheduling tools as Autosys. Experience with massively parallel processing (MPP) data warehouse and hadoop platform are a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, focused on facilitating understanding with non-technical audience. collaboration and relationship building skills. knowledge of relational database (Oracle), SQL, and performing tuning. knowledge of physical data modelling, DDL, and Stored Procedures. knowledge of Informatics PowerCenter or comparable ETL tools such as Ab Initio, DataStage, or MS SSIS. knowledge of Linux/UNIX platform, shell scripting, and command line interfaces (bash/ksh).
