What you'll be doing

Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination and surgical procedures. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination by having them in proper undress. Obtains detailed a pertinent medical history from patient prior to examination. Performs general nursing care to patients. Uses nursing expertise and excellent interviewing skills to assure necessary information is obtained. Follows OSHA guidelines and sees that OSHA maintenance/cleaning is completed. Performs patient phone triage and handles pharmacy requests. Communicates physicians instructions to patients via phone. Reviews patient insurance requirements prior to completing lab requisitions. Attends required meetings, participates in committees and assists with community education as requested. Performs related work as required.

What your background should be

Candidate should have experience in related field. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of organization policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
