What you'll be doing
- The senior systems administrator installs workstation and server operating systems and applications and performs daily system maintenance, applications integration, patches and upgrades to systems. The senior systems administrator installs cable infrastructure, maintains peripheral equipment and develops and maintains user, technical and system documentation as project deliverables. The candidate interacts with project owners, users and test engineers. This position includes the testing of systems, applications, patches, images and devices within the engineering projects lab and occasionally in the production environment. Test process can include the creation of the test lab, by cloning and creating the needed systems and infrastructure.
What your background should be
- At least 6 years of professional experience is required. Vendor specific certifications required (e.g. Microsoft MCITP). Experienced with virtualization of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems on a VMWare ESXi platform. Must have hands-on experience with installing and operating Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 servers. Strong trouble shooting skills and attention to detail required. Basic networking experience a plus. Government clearance required. Requires a strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree.
