What you'll be doing

As architectural project manager the candidate will be responsible for managing customer orders from the initial receipt of the final completion of the job. You will be responsible for handling all communication and coordination with customers and vendors. The candidate will also be responsible for communication and scheduling of internal company resources such as drafting, and manufacturing personnel. As an individual worker, develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project, following a logical pattern for utilization of resources. Work is expected to result in the timely and accurate completion of customer orders. In a supervisory capacity, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs large and important customer orders of door and window products for commercial construction projects or a number of small projects with many complex features. Tracks and controls manufacturing schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated. Reports to management and customers about progress. Reports monthly revenue and cost forecasting. Additional responsibilities include: organization and upkeep of document libraries, ongoing upkeep and revision of documents as products or procedures change

What your background should be

10+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Construction project management certificate preferred. Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency. Ability to follow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly. Good written and oral english communication abilities. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Technical writing ability, ability to effectively articulate complex technical subject matter using clear, concise, written english. Must have a grasp of project accounting and job costing. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, equations, graphs, etc ). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ms office proficiency, word processing, spreadsheets, flowcharts, autocad, internet and e-mail, database tools. Proficient use of project management software such as ms project, primavera experience helpful. Ability to quickly learn new software programs is crucial. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, specifications, blueprints and architectural drawings.

Required Schooling / Training

Associate degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school.
