What you'll be doing

The department manager is responsible for superior customer service, merchandising, and sales performance in assigned area while managing employees. Manage inventory and shrink to budget. Achieve sales and margin budgets in assigned area. Maintain proper control of payroll and other controllable expenses. Understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and employee inquiries. Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions. Anticipate, recognize, and respond to change by innovative problem solving. Develop and plan activities to ensure proper completion in a timely manner. Accomplish work through the effective management of employees.

What your background should be

The applicant should have experience in related field. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measures. Ability to operate store equipment in assigned area (including but not limited to LRT, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutting, panel saw, paint mixing computer, blind cutting, forklifts, pallet jacks, electric lifts). Ability to interpret price tag and UPC information. Ability to process merchandise information through store computer system, POS register system and complete all required paperwork according to policy. Ability to follow instructions; ability to move throughout all areas of the store; sales floor, receiving, registers areas, lawn, and garden, including the outside perimeter of the store; ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions. This job requires some physical efforts.
