What you'll be doing

The incumbent is expected to perform a variety of environmental maintenance and transportation tasks in assigned duties and to perform related work as required. Operating heavy equipment i.e. front end loader to push, pile and load materials such as sand, gravel, refuse and debris into a dump truck and haul to specific locations on campus as well as off station. Assisting the transportation supervisor in managing the maintenance and utilization management of all GSA and VA vehicles. Driving frequently manuever the coach through congested, narrow streets with sharp turns. Picking up leaves and debris by use of rakes, picks, shovels, or with motorized equipment. Perform minor maintenance and repair on all grounds equipment. Apply chemicals to lawns and landscape material with hand and mechanical spreaders. Maintain records of gas/diesel usage of equipment utilized on hospital grounds. Other duties as assigned.

A specific length of training and experience is not required, but must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties. Ability to drive safely motor vehicles; ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation).
