What you'll be doing

The client company is currently seeking for an alternative education teacher. Under the general supervision of an administrator, a classroom teacher will implement school board policy regarding the educational curriculum of a particular instructional division and instructional unit. The teacher may teach one or more subjects. This position is responsible for planning and preparation. S/he will demonstrate mastery of content and pedagogy, knowledge of students and resources, set instructional outcomes for diverse learners. Design coherent instruction and student assessment aligned with common core state standards. The incumbent will maintain classroom environment such as creating an environment of respect and rapport, organizing physical space to create a safe, accessible, resourcing rich environment, and managing classroom procedures and student behavior. The applicant will maintain instruction to communicate learning expectations to students, engage students in learning, and utilize questioning and discussion techniques and embed assessment in instruction. The incumbent will maintain accurate records, reflect on teaching, support family and community partnerships, participate in a professional community, and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.

What your background should be

The candidate should have 3 years of verified contracted teaching experience and the ability to obtain a valid teaching license in Nevada. S/he should have knowledge of child development, behavior, and characteristics of students, subject area and credential area of teaching (e.g. special education, math, science, etc.), effective teaching skills, planning and organizing, supervision and control, assessment and diagnosis, and interpersonal relations.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university
